Course Details
The Experience
Step into the studio and learn the craft of making a handcrafted leather belt. Guided by Basäder founder Elin Johansson Antonelli, you’ll work in a calm, focused environment with beautiful materials and simple tools. This workshop is designed for complete beginners and anyone who enjoys creating something useful by hand.
Tools and Techniques
Become familiar with the fundamental tools of leatherwork and how to use them with confidence. You will handle English bridle leather, learn to measure and cut your strap, prepare edges, punch holes, and set hardware using traditional methods and the pared-back techniques Elin has developed in her own studio.
The Making Process
Work step by step through the full process of crafting your belt. You will bevel and burnish edges, apply edge paint, hand stitch details, and install your buckle and keeper. You will also have the option to personalize your design with small modifications such as stitch detail, buckle style, and finish.
The Outcome
By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a fully finished leather belt made to your size, your style, and built to last for years. You will also gain the foundational skills needed to continue exploring leatherwork or move into more advanced Studio Sessions.
